Main attraction

  • La Pastora Park, BBVA Stadium, La Silla River
The name derives from “Pueblo de la Nueva Tlaxcala de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de Horcasitas,” when, in 1756, the Tlaxcaltec Indians who inhabited the Pilón Valley were gathered in what is now Guadalupe (which ceased to be a mission).
To the north, it borders the municipalities of San Nicolás de los Garza and Apodaca; to the south, the municipality of Juárez; to the west, Monterrey; and to the east, Apodaca. Guadalupe is fully integrated into the metropolitan area, forming part of the large urban sprawl surrounding the capital of Nuevo León.
