Main attraction

  • UANL Astronomical Observatory.
Named in memory of Agustín de Iturbide, it is nestled in the mountains; its streets, facades, squares, gardens, and pine forests come together to form a beautiful scene.
It is located in the southeastern part of the state, in the region known as the Sierra Madre Oriental, at 24°44′ north latitude and 99°53′ west longitude, at an elevation of 1,479 meters above sea level.
It borders the municipality of Galeana to the north; Aramberri to the south; Linares and the state of Tamaulipas to the east; and Galeana to the west.
