El Charco Azul, located in the municipality of Juárez, Nuevo León, is a federally protected natural area that safeguards a valuable ecosystem of great ecological and social importance. This wetland, surrounded by submontane scrub and riparian vegetation, is home to a remarkable diversity of flora—such as sabino trees, anacahuitas, and huizaches—and wildlife, including waterfowl, reptiles, amphibians, small mammals, and a wide variety of pollinating insects. In addition to its environmental role as a natural regulator of the microclimate and habitat for native species, Charco Azul is an ideal setting for sustainable tourism activities such as birdwatching, nature photography, interpretive hiking, and environmental education. The conservation of this site requires responsible participation from visitors, avoiding disturbance of the environment, the generation of waste, and damage to flora and fauna, in order to ensure the preservation of this natural heritage for future generations.
