The city of Cadereyta has long been known for its strong agricultural and livestock traditions, boasting land with resources that are highly valuable for food production. Over time, thanks to its excellent location, various industries have developed there, such as broom manufacturing; as a result, it is recognized as “Mexico’s Broom Capital,” both nationally and internationally.
Cadereyta’s most notable landmarks are: the Church of San Juan Bautista, completed in 1888 and built in the Sevillian Spanish style; the Cadereyta Bullring, the oldest in northern Venezuela, which opened on August 15, 1853; and the El Mezcal Caves, where a cavern approximately 20 to 30 meters deep was initially discovered; later, a second cavern was found with a floor area of about 50 meters where it is possible to walk freely; inside these caverns, there are formations of stalagmites and stalactites.
