Let’s head to Allende! In the citrus-growing region of Nuevo León, at the foot of the Sierra Madre Oriental, lies the municipality of Allende, accessible via the National Highway, just 50 km from the Monterrey metropolitan area—whether you’re coming from the south directly into our state or  leaving from the capital, we’re going to suggest a full day in this northern region—where you’ll surely want to spend an entire weekend— bounded naturally by the Ramos and Lazarillos Rivers.

This is one of the most popular destinations for residents of Nuevo León, because we are fortunate enough to have beautiful natural settings just a few minutes from the city; we’re talking about the crystal-clear waters of the Ramos River, where, in addition to taking a refreshing dip, you can camp and spend a relaxing afternoon. After touring the city, we invite you to enjoy the majestic view from the Santa Cruz overlook, where you can see the city of Allende, Nuevo León, in all its splendor, but don’t leave this city without trying the red taquitos—you’ll find them downtown, and they’re incredibly famous (and delicious). They’re a meat and potato patty wrapped in a golden red tortilla, served with its signature sauce and a side of cabbage—a real treat!
